Pictures failed

Pic's don't seem to be loading. Will try later!

New York, New York

After sorting through over a hundred photos Shannon took of herself (Shannon I am going to save them and embarass you later) I finally found the cruise photos. We took the Lincoln tunnel into the city and made the easy drive to the docks boarding our ship The Miracle. It's a newer ship than what we have been on in the past with more amenities. One of the things I noticed is the materials used in construction. The Miracle uses more plastics and mylar, where the older ships featured beautiful mosiac tiles and more natural materials. I do prefer natural materials to the plastics but I am sure the plastics are more convenient.
The trip through the New York Harbor was inspiring. The World Trade Center was conspiciously absent, only an on site crane visible from the harbor. Our Statue of Liberty stood tall and proud, the Staten Island ferry passed beneath us carrying passengers to and fro. Once out into the Atlantic, the water turned from grey to a deep rich cobalt blue.We toured the ship and picked up some deck maps, it's a big ship and easy to get lost. Dinner was in the main dining room hall the Bacchus and featured grapes. If you look at the pictures, the lights wrapped around the podium resemble grapes on the vine and the wrought iron tables all feature the same grape theme. When I saw it on line I thought it looked garish but in person, it actually looks quite nice. The kids and Paul had steaks, I had the lamb and salmon. The food was great and creme brulee was delicious.
We decided to try the gourmet supper club Nick and Nora's on another night.Hubby went to the casinosbut came home lighter in his pocket. The kids played video games, locked themselves out of the room and got lost. Routine is essential for them and they are definitely out of sorts. It's my birthday andI can't think of a better way to spend it although I wish my fatkid was here with us.

Shannon's Photo Fest

Shannon has discovered the digital camera. Afte taking numerous pics of herself and deleting them, these are the photos, she liked best. We made brownies (great for the thighs!!!) watched Hell's Kitchen and then shaved various body parts just for the fun of it. Yesterday we went and visited Brandon and Sara at work, had Strawberry shakes (also good for the thighs!) and then worked if off at the swimming pool!
